Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to sign a contract?
That’s up to you. Most commercial accounts prefer the certainty of fixed rate plans so they can budget properly. Our carriers even have month-month service with a discounted variable rate in addition to fixed rate plans that lock in a rate regardless of market conditions and range from 3 months to 3 years, ensuring rate certainty.
When will my new supply rate take effect?
It will go into effect right after your next scheduled meter reading, so it could take up to 30 days or more to have the new rate appear on your monthly bill.
What are ESCOs/energy suppliers?
Energy suppliers, or ESCOs, sell electricity or natural gas to consumers. Whether they are a small or large company, these suppliers must meet Public Service Commission requirements in order to be allowed to sell energy.
How will using an ESCO/energy supplier impact my service?
Changing who supplies your energy usage will not change who delivers your energy. Your current local utility will continue to serve you in exactly the same capacity. They will still provide you with customer service, billing, and repairs, and your electricity or gas will be delivered the same as it always has—with absolutely no service interruptions.
